Great, we can’t wait to welcome you! Wear comfortable, lightweight clothing you can move in. We typically train barefoot, but you are welcome to wear non-slip indoor trainers/shoes. Don’t forget to bring along a bottle of water!

Capoeira incorporates music and language into the training sessions, so you will learn to understand musical rhythms. You can and will pick up the Portuguese terms as they relate to capoeira movements with consistency and exposure ( and a desire to learn, of course!) at the academy and capoeira community.

No, you do not. Although it may be advantageous, it is not a prerequisite. You will gain athleticism from doing your training drills with us over time.

Of course! Capoeira is for everyone. The more you train, the more you will find an improvement in your flexibility, as well as your core and muscle strength.

No, you do not. We will teach you the basics of cartwheels, as well as othe movements, and we will find ways to make it comfortable and safe for you to make progress at your own pace.

Certainly! We teach classes at our Downtown location for children (5+) on Fridays from 7:00pm – 8:00pm.

Our Scarborough location welcomes children (4+) every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30pm – 6:00pm and then again from 6:00pm – 7:00pm.
